How do you do that?
With watercolour (mostly in cakes and not tubes), black felt-tip inking pens of sizes ranging from 0.01 to 0.8 as well as a black brushpen, coloured and lead pencils, white gel pens, markers and highlighters, gouache, various liquid inks, sundry brushes (the ones I use the most are animal hair and sizes 6 and 12, and a chinese calligraphy brush I don't know any details about, except that it was damn cheap) PaintShop Pro 7 and imagination in place of common sense.
The SsOS FAQ (here in Finnish and English) has a list of all materials I used to make the comic, and individual pictures have materials listed in their respective descriptions.
I sketch a lot and use references and find out how things work, and about as often make shit up as I go along.

And when did you start?
I painted my first picture while seventeen months old, said my first swearword at the prominent age of two and a half years and first used a subway by myself at twenty.
I also drank turpentine once when I was ten, but that I haven't tried again.

Can I use some of your pictures?
That depends on which ones and what for.
My original drawings - probably not unless it's for promoting the site or something in which case I'd still like you to ask.
Fanart - probably yes, unless it's fanart of noncommercial characters and ideas, in which case you have to ask the person who created them, too. If you are that person, you are of course free to do whatever you wish with the picture, because I most likely drew it as a gift for you.
My policy regarding reuse of my Naruto fanart can be found at the end of the blog post that includes my first Naruto fanarts ever. It still applies, with the exception that if you're planning on using the fancomics that have been scripted by other people, you should ask the writer because I can only speak for myself.

Sorry, but my way of doing things is not something you want to adapt, and my own impractical methods are the only ones I know. Not trying to be mean, but you deserve to learn from someone who's more qualified to teach anyone anything.
