Finally, the Merplushio (v1.0)

Done with:
fleece - white, green and pink
satin - black
polyester ribbon - black
cotton thread - black and white
cotton wool filling

This is the first Merisarpio plushie I've made, and, at least at the moment, the only one.
He's completely hand-sewn, which was not my original plan, but soon became the only choice because my sewing machine seems to just wrinkle and tear whatever's put into it.
Another problem I faced is that his body is indeed so small that sewing the seams together with the reverse side of the fabric on top resulted in it being impossible to turn the thing over anymore. Therefore all the seams on the black part of his body are visible (though tidy), but I for one really don't mind them like this.
This is just what you get for doing everything yourself instead of enslaving a bunch of chinese kids to do the job for you with their small, dainty fingers.

Obviously I cut some details to make him convert into plushie form with a bigger chance of success:
the three pink stripes on his head are now just one stripe, he only has one set of fins at the front of his body instead of two, no toes, his cartoony eyes have been changed into black doll's eyes (this is simply because I didn't want him to have a creepy stare)... well, you can see for yourself.
A closer inspection reveals one more issue I had - the pink stripe has a few extra angles. This is something I already fixed in the patterns, so it's just the prototype's problem.
I'm very pleased with the way his ears curve in birdview.

The ribbon was used for the flap-things he has at the front of his suit (and of which there are now just one), and I also put one on his back because I want to attach him to things from his back with a safety pin and I want to do that without having to stab him with it (Yeah, I know he's just a plushie. It would look stupid, okay).
He could also have a string at the top of his head or at the back of his neck so I could hang him in places (like the christmas tree or something) - he keeps his balance and hangs feet-down-head-up regardless of which of these two places I'd put the string in - but I don't need to do that, so I didn't put one in.
I stitched the edges of the fins, but they're each made from just one piece of fleece. This way they're not too stiff and behave like his fins do in the comic - just hang there with no purpose whatsoever. The ears are made from two pieces each, but I stitched them from the outside because making a seam on the reverse side and turning it over made the tip of the ear too unpointy.
His eyes are stitched completely. I looked for buttons or something I could use, but I think this works the best.

"Attach him to things from his back"?
Yes. I intend to wear him in my pocket and don't want him to fall off.

Patterns and instructions coming eventually, pinky swear.
